Commission Determines Regulated Water and Sewerage Services Prices for 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2023
On Tuesday, 1 May 2018, the Commission announced its final decision on prices for water and sewerage services to apply in the ACT from 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2023 on Icon Water’s regulated tariffs.

The Commission released a technical appendix providing background to the draft report released on 12 December 2017.
This technical appendix is produced in response to Icon Water’s request for more information regarding the Commission’s draft decision on depreciation forecasts for 2018–23.

Public Hearing: Draft Report – Regulated Water and Sewerage Services Prices 2018–2023
As part of the Commission’s investigation into prices for water and sewerage services to take effect from 1 July 2018, the Commission will hold a public hearing at 3 pm on Wednesday, 7 February 2018.
The public hearing will be held at the Canberra Museum and Gallery at the corner of London Circuit and Civic Square, Canberra City and will include a presentation by Senior Commissioner Joe Dimasi followed by a question and answer session.

On Wednesday, 7 February 2018, the Independent Competition and Regulatory Commission held a public hearing on the Draft Report: Regulated Water and Sewerage Services Prices 2018–23.
The public hearing was held at the Canberra Museum and Gallery, Corner of London Circuit and City Square, Canberra City from 3.00pm to 5:00pm.

Release of Draft Report and Proposed Price Direction: Regulated Water and Sewerage Services Prices 2018–23
The Commission released a draft report and proposed price direction on 12 December 2017 for regulated water and sewerage services by Icon Water Limited for the period 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2023.

Industry reference and terms of reference for investigation
On 14 December 2016, the Commission received an industry reference under section 15(1)(a) of the ICRC Act 1997 (Act) to undertake and investigation into, and determine a price direction for, regulated water and sewerage services provided by Icon Water Limited in the ACT. The Commission has received terms of reference for the investigation under section 16 of the Act.

As part of the Commission’s investigation into prices for water and sewerage services to take effect from 1 July 2018, the Commission held a community consultation forum at 3 pm on Thursday, 28 September 2017. The forum sought the views of the community on water and sewerage services prices. In particular, the Commission sought views on Icon Water’s main submission to the investigation.

The forum was open to the public. Icon Water provided a presentation on its main submission to the investigation. Mr Kevin Cox and Mr Ian Falconer also presented statements at the forum.
Due to a technical issue on the day, unfortunately a transcript of the forum is not available, however the Commission will consider and summarise the comments made at the forum in its draft report.
