Licence Applications, Surrenders, Variations and Revocations


From 1 July 2012 energy retailers are authorised by the AER under the National Energy Retail Law.  All energy supply licences were revoked on 1 July 2012 by section 403 of the National Energy Retail Law (Consequential Amendments) Act 2012.

On 30 October 2025 the commission received a electricity generation services utility licence application from Williamsdale BESS Project Co Ptd Ltd (ABN 46 667 086 099), acting on behalf of Williamsdale BESS Project Trust (ACN 75 543 896 839).

On 12 June 2026, the commission granted an ongoing utility licence.

Utility Licence Application: Transgrid Services Pty Limited (ACN 626 136 865) as trustee of Transgrid Services Trust (ABN 94 121 353 950) trading as ‘Lumea Infrastructure Services’

On 10 May 2022 the commission received an application seeking a utility licence for the transmission of electricity from Transgrid Services Pty Limited as trustee of Transgrid Services Trust (ABN 94 121 353 950) trading as ‘Lumea Infrastructure Services’.

On 22 July 2022 the commission granted Lumea a utility licence for a period of 20 years.
