The commission has commenced a review of the Consumer Protection Code, which set consumer protections and minimum standards customers can expect when receiving essential utility services. The Code applies to electricity, gas, water and sewerage utilities as well as energy retailers operating in the ACT. Submissions on the issues paper close 6 July 2026.

On 2 June 2026, we released the annual update of regulated water and sewerage services prices for 2026-27. The report sets out the maximum prices that Icon Water can charge customers for the financial year beginning 1 July 2026.

Current Projects
The Treasurer has asked us to set prices for regulated water and sewerage services provided by Icon Water for the 5 years from 1 July 2023. We will investigate the prudent and efficient costs of delivering these services.
The commission will determine a price direction for standing offer electricity prices for small customers from 1 July 2024 – 30 June 2027. On 1 June 2023, we received terms of reference to investigate and determine a price direction for the supply of electricity to small customers.
