Public Interest Disclosures

A person who suspects serious wrongdoing within a government agency can make a complaint. The complaint is called a public interest disclosure (PID). In the ACT, people who make a public interest disclosure are protected by the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2012 (PID Act).

The ACT Integrity Commission administers the ACT’s public interest disclosure scheme. More information is available on the Integrity Commission’s website https://www.integrity.act.gov.au/home.

All ACT Government agencies have responsibilities under the PID Act to investigate suspected wrongdoing and take appropriate action.
