We have released a consumer fact sheet about a new industry code that will place obligations on electricity retailers to help customers compare electricity plans and find the best deals for them.

On Friday 26 February 2021, the Commission released a draft report for its review of the form of price control used to regulate retail electricity prices. The draft report outlines the Commission’s draft positions and proposed implementation timing.

Utility Licence Update
On Tuesday 9 February 2021, the Commission released its final decision updating utility licences. The final report explains the licence changes, which take effect from 1 March 2021.
The Commission has approved an update to the Precinct Map effective 1 July 2020.
The Commission has approved the maximum prices that Icon Water can charge for its regulated water and sewerage services from 1 July 2020.
On Friday, 5 June 2020, the Commission released its final report and price direction for standing offer prices for the supply of electricity to small customers on ActewAGL’s regulated tariffs from 1 July 2020.
On Monday, 4 May 2020, the Commission released its final decision on the Electricity Feed-in Tariff Code update, together with a new Code. The new Code will commence on 1 July 2020.

Monitoring Report: Utility Licence Annual Report
The Commission has released its Monitoring Report for 2018–19 on the performance of licensed utilities. The Report sets out information on customer complaints, service interruptions, minimum service standards and other utility licence obligations.
On Friday 27 March 2020, the Commission released a Draft Report for its review on the Public Crematorium Services Competitive Neutrality. The Commission is inviting submissions until Thursday 16 April 2020

Incentive Mechanisms
On Wednesday 4 December 2019, the Commission released an Issues Paper for its review of the incentives Icon Water has to operate efficiently in delivering regulated water and sewerage services. The Commission is inviting submissions until Friday 28 February 2020.
On Monday, 2 September 2019, the Commission released an issues paper outlining its approach to the 2020-24 electricity price investigation. Submissions on the issues paper close on Friday, 11 October 2019. A copy of the issues paper and media release is available here.
On 13 August 2019 the Commission’s Final Report on the Container Deposit Scheme Price Monitoring investigation was presented to the ACT Legislative Assembly. Click here to read the final report.
On Friday 23 August 2019, the Commission released its draft decision on the Consumer Protection Code review, together with a draft Code. A public forum on the draft decision and draft Code will be held on Wednesday, 11 September. The closing date for submissions is Friday, 25 October 2019.
On 30 July 2019 the Treasurer presented the Commission’s Final Report on the investigation to the ACT Legislative Assembly.
The Commission has approved an update to the Precinct Map effective 1 July 2019. Under the Code, no further additions can be made to the Precinct Map until 1 July 2020.
On Thursday 13 June 2019, the Commission released its Monitoring Report on the 2017-18 Utility Licence Annual Reports. The Monitoring Report summarises the Utility Licence Annual Reports submitted each year to the Commission by licensed utilities.
On Friday, 7 June 2019, the Commission released its annual update of regulated retail electricity prices for ActewAGL Retail’s small customers for the financial year beginning 1 July 2019.

Commission receives terms of reference to determine retail electricity prices from 1 July 2020
On 28 May 2019, the Commission received a terms of reference to determine a price direction for standing offer prices for the supply of electricity to small customers who consume less than 100 MWh of electricity.
On Friday, 31 May 2019, the Commission released its final decision on the Electricity Model and Methodology Review 2018–19. The report sets out the model and methodology the Commission intends to use during the next price investigation to set regulated retail electricity prices from 1 July 2020.

On Wednesday 8 May 2019 the Commission released a draft report outlining its draft findings from its investigation into motor vehicle petrol prices in the ACT.
On Thursday 28 February 2019 the Commission released a progress report outlining its draft findings and draft recommendations from monitoring changes in beverage prices and identifying any competition impacts following the introduction of the ACT’s Container Deposit Scheme on 30 June 2018.
